MARGARET ANN LEFLET

Margaret Leflet, 84, Valley Falls, formerly of St. Joseph, MO, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at the home of her daughter, Lucy Thomas, in Valley Falls.
She was born May 5, 1924, at Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of Wayne Caldwell and Frances Claude Barnes Wickham. She graduated from Amarillo, Texas High School in 1942.
Margaret was a member of the Valley Falls United Methodist Church and Chapter DK PEO in Valley Falls. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a former member of Westminister Presbyterian Church, both in St. Joseph. She was a member of several bridge clubs in Valley Falls and St. Joseph.
She married Richard Lee Leflet on March 31, 1943, at Sayer, OK They owned and operated Northwest Missouri Water Conditioning at St. Joseph from 1962-1974. Richard died on Sept. 25, 1973. Margaret later worked at J.C. Penney at St. Joseph and also owned and operated the Country Inn Cafe in Nortonville, KS from 1977-1984.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Richard Lee Leflet in 1994 and James Michael Leflet in 1979 and a daughter, Frances Ann Wrey in 2001.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Wayne Leflet, Nortonville, and John Herbert Leflet, Newnan, GA; a daughter, Lucille L Thomas Valley Falls; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at the Valley Falls United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in St. Joseph, MO, at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Monday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to the the Jefferson County Hospice or to the Valley Falls United Methodist Church and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, 810 Broadway, Valley Falls, Ks 66088.
