Margaret E. Eubanks, 93, of Topeka, formerly of Holton, passed away the morning of Wednesday, February 12, 2014.
She was born on April 6, 1920, at Idana, KS, the daughter of James Warren and Carrie Mary Carpenter Isensee.
Margaret received normal-training at Clay Center High School to be a teacher. She taught in one room rural grade schools in Jackson County. She worked at and later retired from the J.C. Penney Department Store in Holton. She was a member of the former Presbyterian Church in Holton, and later attended the Larkinburg Christian Church. Margaret was a graduate of the Menninger Bible Class.
On February 14, 1943, she married Roger E. Eubanks, in Idana. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2013, after 70 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Preston Isensee.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Marcia Ransdell (Clark-deceased) and Sue Searles (Mark) all of Topeka; her sister, Joan Wheatley, Holton; her four grandchildren, Kelly Jimenez (Brian), Erin Morgan (Curtis), Cole Searles (Chelsie) and Darren Searles (Kailey); and her five great-grandchildren, Jakeb, Olivia, Jude, Ryan and Brady.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2014, at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friends Sunday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Larkinburg Christian Church, American Cancer Society or Midland Hospice and may be sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
