Obituary

Rapids City, IL- Lyman Warren Bowser, 75, of Rapids City, IA passed away April 18, 2009. He was born June 5, 1933 in Mayetta, KS the son of Cecil and Effie Johnson Bowser. He graduated from Holton High School in 1951. He married Joan O'Neal Lynn on December 12, 1994 in Geneseo. Lyman had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Murphy Brother Construction through the Pipelines' Union Local 798.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Audrey Oliverius, Denison, KS, sons, Craig Bowser, currently serving in Iraq, Bryan Bowser, Holton, KS and Travis Bowser, Grandview Plaza, KS, step children, Shannon Lynn, East Moline, IL and Robert Lynn, Monroe, LA, 7 grandchildren including Vanessa Lynn who lived with and helped care for Lyman, sisters, Doris Bowser- Kitrell, Holton, KS, Maurine Bowser- Calderwood, Seneca, KS and Alberta Bowser-Townsend, Douglas, WY and a brother, Cecil Lee Bowser, Mayetta, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Bowser.

Mr. Bowser was cremated. Family will greet friends 10:00 a.m. to noon, April 25, 2009 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Lyman W. Bowser Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
