HOLTON – Lyle Leroy Rudy, 81, of Holton, formerly of Houston, TX, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at The Pines in Holton.
Lyle was born December 15, 1929, in Atchison, KS, the son of Ernest Allen and Elfa Fisher Rudy. He graduated from Holton High School in 1947. He was also a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Holton.
Lyle served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954, earning ribbons for Korean Service and China Service. Until his retirement, Lyle worked as an engineer for Lockheed Electronics at NASA in Houston, TX.
Lyle was married to Anne Lorene Pierce for 47 years. She preceded him in death on December 17, 2005. He is survived by his stepsons, Ron Stitt and Jack Stitt both of Texas; his stepdaughter, Mary Friesen of Arizona; his sister, Marjorie Hug of Holton; two brothers, Ernest A. Rudy, Jr. and his wife, Betty of Weatherford, TX, and Keith E. Rudy and his wife, Colleen of Dallas, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rudy was cremated. The family will greet friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment will be at a later date in Webster, TX.
