Lovelle W. "Pete" Deppe, 88, of Topeka, KS, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka; with family by his side. He was born March 17, 1936 in Denison, KS, the son of Harry and Edna (Myers) Deppe.

Pete graduated from Denison High School in 1954. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad from 1954 – 2001; retiring as Assistant General Foreman.

He was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and the Ozawkie American Legion Post 225.

Pete married Delores J. "Dee" Deppe on March 15, 1956 in Holton, KS. They celebrated over 68 years of marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Dee of the home; son, Terry L. Deppe of Mayetta, KS; daughter, Tonya L. Simecka (Mark) of Ozawkie, KS; 5 grandchildren, Cody Lee, Dustin Lee, Lucas, Anthony and Sarah; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Edna Deppe; sister, Donna Schmalbeck; brother, Merle Deppe and grandson, Ryan Simecka.

Family will greet friends 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.  Private Family Inurnment will be at a later date at Holton Cemetery.
