Loneta Katherine Powell, 60, of Topeka formerly of San Diego died Friday, August 4, 2006 at a Topeka hospital.
She was born on January 17, 1946 in Holton. She was the daughter of Alonzo and Katie Collier Davis. She graduated from Wetmore High School in 1964. She had worked at Fedco and Wal-Mart.
Loneta married Herbert W. Powell, Jr. on June 10, 1964 in Wetmore. He survives. She is also survived by a son John Powell and his wife Christina of San Diego, CA; and a brother Melvin Davis of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by a sister Rebecca Spiker and a brother Darold Davis.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Grace Community Church in Topeka. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Goff, KS. The family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to Grace Community Church and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
