Lola I. Tichenor, 90, Topeka, formerly of Valley Falls, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

Lola was a homemaker and lived near Valley Falls all her life. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lee, and three sisters, Ruth Cumiford, Rose Davis, and Betty Burklow.

Survivors include four daughters, Lucy (Robert) Benortham, Overbrook, KS, Karla (Jerry) Alkire, Derby, KS, Nora (Daniel) Lovely, Lakewood. IA, and Mary (Steve) Shipps, Topeka, KS, and wonderful grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Lola's faith in God was her comfort and strength. She loved her family, neighbors and friends. They were blessed by her wonderful cooking and sewing skills.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
