Lois Maxine Sloop, 85, of Holton, KS passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Holton Community Hospital. She was born July 25, 1927 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Ora Alpheus and Isla Victoria (Goodman) Graves.

Lois attended Wheaton High School. She had lived in the Wheaton, Onaga and Holton communities for most of her life. Lois worked for Slimaker Dress Factory for a few years. With her husband, she owned and operated Osage Cleaners from 1951 to 1956, Onaga Cleaners from 1956 to 1976 and Marlo Cleaners in Holton from 1960 to 2001.

She was a past member of the Congregation Church in Onaga and had attended Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton. She was also a past member of Holton Business Women, Holton Hospital Auxiliary, Mustang Camping Club and 16-75ers.

Lois married Lyle Dean Sloop on October 13, 1945 in Ottawa, KS. He survives of the home. Other survivors include 2 sons, Gary D. Sloop and his wife, Andrea, of Bartlesville, OK and Keith L. Sloop and his wife, HyeSun, of Holton, KS; a daughter, Victoria "Vicky" K. Matzke and her husband, Stan, of Blaine, KS; a sister, Isla Mae Vogel of Topeka, KS; 12 grandchildren, Michele Nimmo, Michael Sloop, Mark Sloop, Laura Staufenberg, Lindsey Sloop, Tracy Mercer, Scott Sloop, Heather Westfahl, Kevin Sloop, Kristine Meier, Carrie Ross and Trixy Falke; 31 great grandchildren and 1 great- great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ora "Dale" Graves in 2010.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Wheaton Cemetery.
