LOIS MARJORIE PILGER
Lois Marjorie Pilger, 96, Valley Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007 in Valley Falls.
She was born July 8, 1911, in Stanton County, Nebraska, the daughter of Steve and Harriett Elizabeth Peters Stevenson.
Lois was a homemaker and had worked with her husband at their grocery store in Peers, MO.
She married Louis Claire Pilger on Oct. 10, 1932, at Lincoln, Neb. He died on Aug. 19, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her son, Russell Pilger, on June 6, 2004, two daughters in infancy, Katherine Pilger and Mary Pilger, and her brother, Raymond Stevenson.
Survivors include three daughters, Edna Jenkins, Shawnee, Jean Savage (Seth), Independence, MO, and Betty Majors (Bill), Meriden; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m., Saturday until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson County Home Health and Hospice and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, 810 Broadway, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
