LOIS ANN MALM
Lois Ann Malm, 66, Valley Falls, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
Lois was a librarian for Jefferson West High school for 25 years. She had also taught in public schools at Lansing and at Las Vegas, NV.
She was born on July 24, 1940, at Easton, the daughter of Howard Ben and Gladys LaVeryl Hall Cleavinger. She graduated from Valley Falls High School and later received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brigham Young University in 1962.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all of her life and belonged to the Kaw Valley Ward in Topeka. Among her callings in the church were Ward Organist, Choral Director, Seminary Teacher and Family History Librarian.
Lois married Gerhard A. Malm, D.V.M., on May 29, 1965, at Ft. Leavenworth. She was preceded in death by her first grandchild, Jair Elizabeth Malm.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Gerhard Malm, of the home; two sons, Per Allan Malm and his wife, Celia May, Keokuk, IA, and Eric Eli Malm and his wife, Marlene, Payson, UT; a daughter, Kristen Ann Phillips and her husband, Troy, Fremont, CA; a sister, Nadene Jackson, Oviedo, FL; a brother, Howard Cleavinger, Vernal, UT, and eight grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00- 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
