Obituary

VALLEY FALLS, KS- Lois Marjorie Allen Kientz, 88, of Valley Falls, KS, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022 at Lansing Care and Rehab. She was born August 6, 1933 in Thurston, NE, the daughter of Seth Thomas and Mabel E. (Wilson) Allen.

Lois lived most of her life in Valley Falls and graduated from Valley Falls High School. She attended Beauty School and worked as a beautician for several years.  She also worked at the IGA store in Valley Falls.

Lois was a loving mother and grandmother and loved spending time with family and friends.  She also loved listening to the Fiddle and Country Music.  She was a sports fan and loved watching the Kansas City Royals, KU Basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Survivors include a son, Gary Royer (Carla) of McLouth, KS; daughter, Tracy Harrington (Pat) of Valley Falls, KS; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Seth and Mabel Allen; son, Clark Royer; 5 sisters, Evelyn Allen, Eunice Osburn, June Brown, Doris Moore and Patsy Frommer and 7 brothers, John, Donald, Richard "Dick", Lloyd, Harold, Roy and Tom Allen.

Lois will be dearly missed by all her loved ones.

Family will greet friends Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 2-4:00 P.M. at the Kendall State Bank Community Hall, 406 Broadway Street, Valley Falls, Kansas 66088. Memorials may be given to Jefferson County Hospice c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
