Lloyd Henry Scheid, 95, of Holton, KS, passed away Monday, April 15, 2019 at The Pines in Holton with family by his side. He was born August 5, 1923 on his family farm in Whiting, KS, the son of Henry Jacob and Anna Christine (Grousch) Scheid.

Lloyd was a lifelong member of the Jackson County community as a farmer and stockman. He learned to play the guitar at a very young age and enjoyed playing for most of his life. Lloyd was also a Caller for square dance clubs.

He married Frances "Marie" Marriott on September 10, 1943 in Springfield, MO. They celebrated over 75 years of marriage.

Survivors include his wife Marie Scheid of the home; a son, Russell Lloyd Scheid (Julie) of Mayetta, KS; 2 granddaughters, Jerica Marie Gallardo (Justin) and Jameia Haines (Chad) and 4 great-grandchildren, Jaylen and Jaren Gallardo and Ashley and Emily Haines.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Estella Ann Scheid.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Holton Cemetery. Lloyd will lie in state beginning Wednesday afternoon.
