Lloyd Galen "Et nwe tek" Potts was born 6-6-1948 in Horton, Kansas and passed into Glory on February 9, 2022 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was known as: "Et nwe tek", Brother Potts, Pink, LG, Papa, Shisheh, Uncle, and Dad.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard Leo and Coralene (Keesis) Potts; maternal grandparents, Jesse and Dora Keesis; paternal grandparents, Joe Bill and Rosan Lasley Koye Potts; 2 brothers, Vernon "Shkomak" Potts and Norman Potts; sister, Barbara Tims and 2 sons, Roger and Danny Johnson.
Survivors include: his wife, Peggy Johnson of the home; his mother, Venida Chenault, Lawrence, KS; 3 sons, Marland Ray Potts (Shelia) of Tama, IA, Terry Johnson (Barbara) and Larry Berryhill, both of Oklahoma City, OK; 3 daughters, Deana Shelley Kapayou of Tama, IA, LaDonna Garcia-DeLeon of Toledo, IA and Loana Skalla (David) of Oklahoma, City, OK; brother, Mr. Ed Potts (Shirley) of Mayetta, KS; 3 sisters, Voncile Mitchell of Mayetta, KS, Doris Potts-Zyganiuk (Alexander) of Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada and Gloria June Keesis, dear older sister who stood by Lloyd throughout their past 70+ years together - mostly in Oklahoma City, OK; 26 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and a member of the Potawatomi Pentecostal Church.
Lloyd attended Powhattan Grade School and Pawnee Indian Boarding School. He worked in construction and heavy equipment operations and was disabled in a dozer accident.
He played in and coached men's and youth softball teams and loved teaching. He loved hunting and taking his nieces and nephews fishing and noodling in local ponds - no matter the weather - and mushroom hunting. He was a shade-tree mechanic, loved to cook, and counseling on softball, life, and The Word of God. Lloyd was a people person, he loved visiting and attending church and revivals.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at the Potawatomi Pentecostal Church Cemetery, 10054 134
