Linda Sue “Nozheko” Tecumseh, 77. of Mayetta, KS, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at St. Francis ER in Topeka. She was born May 1, 1949 in Holton, the daughter of Maxine M. (Nozhackum) Ramirez.

Linda graduated from Mayetta High School in 1967 and attended Haskell Indian Nations University. She was a member of Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and had worked for almost 30 years for the Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribe and retired in the Payroll Department.

Linda was a resilient and caring woman whose strength, kindness, and unwavering love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She faced life’s challenges with grace and determination. Linda found joy in music and dancing, embracing every opportunity to celebrate life with a smile.

She had a creative spirit and loved crafting beautiful things, often sharing her talents with those she loved. Linda was also an avid sports fan who could always be found cheering from the sidelines at her children’s and grandchildren’s games or passionately rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Linda cherished her grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than spoiling them, creating lasting memories, and surrounding them with unconditional love.

Linda’s legacy is one of resilience, compassion, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives she enriched.

Linda married Michael Kitchkommie, they later divorced.

She married Ralph “Pok-To” Tecumseh on October 16, 1982; he preceded her in death on February 11, 2012, after 30 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Ramirez; a son, Cody C. Nozhackum and 2 brothers, Timothy and Thomas Ramirez.

Survivors include her son, Mario Kitchkommie of Mayetta, KS, her son, Frank Tecumseh (Melissa) of Michigan, her daughter, Amber Tecumseh (Cody Wilson) of Mayetta, KS and her son, Nelson Tecumseh (Betty) of Mayetta, KS; her sisters, Brenda Nozhackum of Mayetta, KS and Beatrice Ramirez of Holton, KS; 10 grandchildren and many other brothers and sisters.

Linda will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Wake and Ttibekwe will be Thursday evening at Nozhackum Hall. Burial will be Friday morning at Danceground Cemetery.
