Tucson, AZ - Linda Sue "Thurmond" Johnstone, 67, of Tucson, AZ, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 in Trinidad, CO. She was born July 15, 1954 in Knoxville, KY the daughter of Wymond and Margaret (Smith) Thurmond.

Linda graduated from Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, AZ. She then attended nursing school and obtained an R.N. license. In her professional career, she worked as a floor nurse then went on to instruct nursing and ended as a D.O.N at various facilities.

She enjoyed serving the Page, AZ community along with her Beta Sigma Phi sorority sisters.  In Tucson, she was an active member in the Gold Wing Riders Association and the Retreads M.C. International Inc.

Throughout her life, she loved to bowl where she competed in local and national tournaments as well as a past time activity with her family. Most recently, she traveled with her husband to several baseball parks and historical sites across the states and cruised to places including Alaska and the Panama Canal.

Linda became united in marriage to Craig Scott Johnstone on December 27, 1976 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Omaha, NE. They were planning to celebrate their 45th year Anniversary in December.

Survivors include her husband, Craig Scott of Tucson, AZ; daughter Tosca Johnstone of Tucson, AZ; son Aaron Johnstone (Alexsis) of Mesa, AZ; her mother Margaret Thurmond, of Henderson, NV; three grandchildren, Elle & Ava Johnstone, and Scott Healy.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Addie Sue Johnstone; her son, LeRoy Scott Johnstone; father, Wymond Thurmond; brother, Pat Thurmond;  sister-in-law, Colleen Thurmond and brother-in-law, Elmer Johnstone.

There will be two separate types of services held at different venues:

1. The Celebration of Linda's Life will be held at Sabino Road Baptist Church (2710 N Sabino Canyon Rd) in Tucson, AZ on August 14 ^th from 1:00 – 3:00pm
2. The Mass of Christian Burial and the Funeral will be held St. James Catholic Church in Wetmore, KS on August 21 ^st at 11:00 a.m
   1. Visitation will start an hour earlier at 10:00 a.m.
   2. We will conclude the service with a Burial at Fairview Cemetery in Goff, KS followed by a luncheon back at the St. James church hall.
