Calkins
Holton-Lillian Rose Calkins, 87, of Holton, died Friday, May 05, 2006 at Holton Manor. She was born December 12, 1918 in Blue Rapids, Ks, the daughter of John and Mary Straka Zulek.
Lillian graduated from a high school in Blue Rapids in 1937. She had lived in Holton for 32 years and had previously lived in Denison for 18 years. She was homemaker and housewife, sold Avon and also did housekeeping for the Jackson County court house.
She married Claude F. Calkins on July 19, 1941 in Lincoln, NE. He died July 9, 1987. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons Larry Robert Calkins and Floyd Ross Calkins.
Survivors include a son Lloyd Ray Calkins and his wife Mary of Holton; a daughter-in-law Tammy Calkins of Topeka; two grandsons Christopher Ray Calkins of Redding, KS and Michael Calkins of Topeka.
Cremation is planned and Memorial Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at the Community Church of Christ, 512 Wisconsin, in Holton. Inurnment will be in Holton Cemetery at a later date.
