Lewis Lee King, 64, of Nortonville, KS, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025. He was born November 6, 1961 in Winchester, KS, the son of Willie M. and Oleta G. (Metzger) King.
Lewis graduated from Jefferson County North High School in 1980 and later earned his Horticulture Degree from Kaw Valley Vo-Tech. In early years he worked for Green Survival Greenhouse in Cummings, KS. After his degree he worked as a Green's Keeper for St. Mary's Municipal Golf Course then returned to Green Survival for many years. He also worked for Bunter Old Mill and Dobskie's Corp (Owner of McDonalds) as a landscaper. Most recently he was a Horticulturist for Kings Construction.
During and after high school, Lewis enjoyed riding dirt bikes and trapping. He was a musician, singing and playing the guitar for his local band, Wilson Flicker.
He was married for a couple years and later divorced. To this union his daughter, Darci was born.
Survivors include his daughter, Darci Gray (Daniel) of Hartford, KS; 4 sisters, Marsha Weishaar (Robert) and Judy Keirns (Joe) both of Nortonville, KS, Darla Kramer (Wayne) of Carbondale, KS and LeaAnn Schrick (Robbie) of Pinehurst, NC and 6 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Oleta King, a brother, Bill King and a sister Vickie Burk.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2025 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls with burial to follow at Ozawkie Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time. Memorials may be given to Mercer Funeral Home to help with expenses and may be mailed to P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
