Letha L. Krumrey, 92, Topeka, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
She was born Aug. 20, 1917, at Valley Falls, the daughter of Ed and Ruby M. Burton Kabriel. She graduated from Rock Creek High School in 1936.
Letha married Harland Frederick Krumrey on Oct. 25, 1939, at Lawrence. They farmed north of Meriden in the Bloomfield Community. Harland died on Sept. 3, 1974, and Letha moved to Topeka in 1975, where she was a caregiver for the Cleveland Martin family for many years.
She was a member of the Elmont United Methodist Church in Topeka and Rebekah Lodge No. 652 in Valley Falls. She had played the piano at many local dances.
Letha was preceded in death by two brothers, Millard Kabriel and Harold Kabriel.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Rose Kabriel, Topeka, and many nephews and nieces.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Monday. Memorials may be made to the Bloomfield Church Fund and sent in care of the funeral home, 810 Broadway, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
