Leslie A. Olsen, 77, of Mayetta, KS died Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Holton Community Hospital. He was born April 13, 1935 in Nuckolls County, NE, the son of Ezra P. and Inger Marie Andersen Olsen.

Les graduated from Hardy High School in 1952 and attended Kearney State for one year. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees in Agriculture from Kansas State University. Les taught Vo-Ag at Waterville, Riley County and Clay Center High Schools. During this time he also worked for Citizens State Bank in Waterville. Les was an Agriculture Education Specialist for the Kansas Department of Education for 28 years. He also was a farmer and stockman.

Les was a member of Evangel United Methodist Church where he taught the Seekers Sunday School Class. He was also a member of Holton Lions Club and the Beta Sigma Psi Fraternity at K State.

Les married Corrine Louise Wright on July 17, 1960 in Abilene, KS. Corrine survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Catherine Sue (Dennis) Cashier of Marysville, KS, Carrie Lynn (Shanon) Saia of Delia, KS and Carla Marie (Jerry) Mohr of Vancouver, WA; sisters, Letha Allbee of Bolingbrook, IL and Loetta Garlow of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Travis and Molly Cashier, Dawson and Chayse Saia and Jessica and Aaron Mohr and a great grandson Cason Cashier; and many nieces and nephews. Les was preceded in death by a sister, Lola Mae Panko and a brother, Lloyd Olsen.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 at Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
