LEROY JOHNSTONE

GOFF, KS- LeRoy Carl Johnstone, 85, of Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of Goff, died January 21, 2008 in Tucson, AZ. He was born April 28, 1922 in Goff, KS the son of James and Rosa Stringe Johnstone.
He had spent the last 39 years in Scottsdale, AZ as a mechanic; he previously lived in Omaha, NE. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of
St. Daniels Catholic Church in Scottsdale, American Legion Post #44 in Scottsdale and the Arizona Kit Car Club.
He married Addie Irene McDaniel on August 9, 1942. She survives.
Other survivors include 3 sons, Elmer Johnstone and his wife, Cheryl and Stephen Johnstone and his wife, Rose all of Omaha, NE, Craig Johnstone and his wife, Linda of Tucson, AZ; a brother, Charles Johnstone of Sabetha, KS; 11 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2008 at the St. James Catholic Church in Wetmore. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Goff, KS with military honors. Memorials may be given to the St. James Catholic Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
