Obituary
TOPEKA- Leonard Ray Thackery, 53, of Topeka, passed away Monday, February 2, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. He was born January 4, 1956 in Wichita, KS the son of Alfred and Barbara Troup Thackery.
Leonard attended Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church and was a heavy equipment operator for the Topeka Street Department.
He married Laura Martinez on May 3, 1980 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two children, Heather DuBry and her husband Lloyde and Clinton Thackery both of Topeka; 2 sisters, Kathy Runyon and Roberta Thackery both of Wichita; a brother, Shawn Thackery of Wichita and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Virginia Thackery.
Mr. Thackery was cremated. Inurnment will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Shipshee Cemetery (near Mayetta). Memorials may be given to the Leonard Thackery Memorial Fund c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
