Lenora L. Seaton, 83, of Holton passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Jackson County Medicalodges.
She was born June 7, 1930 in Jackson County, Kansas the daughter of Fredrick and Josephine (Mosher) Schafer. She had worked at Slimaker Dress Factory, she owned and operated Snappy Lunch Cafe in Holton and Cross Creek Cafe in Emmett. She also did carpentry and wall paper hanging for many people. Lenora was a member of Holton VFW Ladies Auxiliary #1367 and was former president. In 1947 she married Lane Simmons. The couple later divorced.
On August 9, 1969 she married Perley Seaton in Holton, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include: her son, Allan Simmons (Donna) of Soldier, KS; her daughter Kathren Shupe of Holton, KS; her step-daughter, Carrie Felps of Topeka, KS; her sister, Betty Baughman of Banger, ME; her four grandchildren, Candy Sue Mann (Jim), Carmella Kay Sides (Steven), Curtis D. Shupe (A.J.) and Becky Jo Howerton (Mark), her 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters and her great-granddaughter Natalie Jo Howerton.
Lenora was cremated and there will be a private family service held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials are made to VFW Ladies Auxiliary or Jackson County Medicalodges and may be left in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton 66436.
