HOLTON – Larry Joe Felps, 60, Holton, died Tuesday, February 28, 2006.
Larry was born August 30, 1945 in La Junta, CO, the son of John A. and Verna A. Burns Felps. He graduated from Manzanola High School in Colorado. He had lived in Holton for forty years.
He worked at Goodyear for 35 years before retiring in 2000. He was a member of Local #307 United Rubber Workers. He was active in Boy Scouts serving as an Assistant Scout Master for 3 years and a Scout Master for 3 years. He had served in the Army National Guard.
Larry married Lora "Sue" Wolfe, she survives. He is survived by son, Floyd Hladky; daughter, Sharman Hladky both of Holton; son, Jon Felps of Carbondale; and son, Larry Joe Felps, II and his wife Neoma of Holton; sisters, Nina Kaul and her husband Ray of Holton, Florence Winter and her husband Frank of Mayetta, Audry Stolzenberger and her husband Harold of Mayetta; grandchildren, Mary, Dalton, and Chaise Hladky; Taihler and Brayden Felps; Ashley and Zachary Whiteman.
The family will greet friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Mr. Felps will be cremated following visitation and burial will be at a later date at the Holton Cemetery.
