Lana L. Mooney, 68, Valley Falls, died early Tuesday morning, August 27, 2019, at her home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born, June 14, 1951, at Independence, MO, the daughter of Gaylord and Marjorie Stevens Grover. She graduated from Seaman High School in Topeka in 1969.

Lana was a life-long homemaker. She had worked as an EMT and Firefighter for Jefferson County District 11. She had attended Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Falls.

She married Delbert E. Mooney, Oct. 5, 1984, at Oskaloosa.

Survivors include her husband, Delbert, of the home; two sons, Monty J. Mooney, and Zachary D. Mooney, both of Valley Falls; two daughters, Christie (Marlin) Gier, and Jamie M. Kester, all of Valley Falls; a sister, Paula Anders, Topeka; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Grover, and a granddaughter, Liyah Gier.

The Graveside Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2019, at Gragg's Chapel Cemetery, five miles west of Valley Falls.
