MANHATTAN- Kenneth Alvin Wilson was born in Omaha, NE to Charles E. and Edith Phipps Wilson on June 2, 1931. He entered into God's Kingdom on December 8, 2009 he was 78. Ken joined the Marines at 16 with a signature from the next door neighbor, when he served his term he joined the Army and served until 1959. He married Ernestine Mulanax on April 18, 1959. Together they raised their children in Omaha, NE. They relocated to Manhattan, KS area in 1979 where they opened Ken's Appliance and Satellites. Ken retired shortly after Ernestine's death in 1997. Afterwards he lived briefly in Garnett, KS before returning to Manhattan to live with his daughter, Helen and family. He worked part time supervising at the Appliance Doctor. Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine, father, mother, sister, Betty White, brothers, Norman, Leonard and Merlin Wilson. He is survived by brothers, Dwight Smith of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Arnold Wilson of Colorado. Children, Ron and Kaye Mulanax of St. George, KS, Kenneth and Zann Wilson of Lafayette, CO, Linda and Abe Bolek of Riley, KS, Helen and Michael Kraemer of Manhattan, KS, Sharon and Mike Stewart of Wamego, KS and Douglas Wilson of Topeka, KS. His grandchildren, Shawn Wilson, Angie Matter, Tina Ingle, Ken Gunia, Cindy and Terry Shahan, Donna'Ann and Laurence Wilson, Amanda and Billy Tackaberry, Jake Bolek, Morgan Kraemer, Jaymie and Amber Stewart and many great grandchildren. He was also survived by his ex-wife Shirley Wilson of Garnett, KS.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday December 12, 2009 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Shipshee Cemetery.
