Kenneth Lyle Melvin, 65, of Onaga, KS, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, with family by his side. He was born August 20, 1958 in Seneca, KS, the son of Lyle Henry and Nelda Karen (Steele) Melvin.

Kenneth graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1976. He was a Control Room Operator for Jeffery Energy Center. He was also a farmer, stockman and bee-keeper.

He enjoyed hunting, wood carving, Civil War reenacting and mostly his family.

Kenneth was a member of the Corning United Methodist Church.

He married Denise Leeann Walters on July 26, 1980 in Corning, KS; they celebrated over 43 years of marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Denise of the home; his parents, Henry and Nelda Melvin of Soldier KS; 3 sons, Steven Lyle Melvin (Cammie (Wilkens) Melvin) of Randolph, KS, Jeremy Lee Melvin (Emily (Meyer) Melvin) of Soldier, KS and Brendan Lane Melvin of Ottawa, KS and 2 grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth and Henry Dean Melvin.
