HOLTON-Kenneth Fredrick Kruse, 83, of Holton, KS passed away October 20, 2010 at his home. He was born August 4, 1927 in Morrill, KS the son of Fred W. and Bessie Honick Kruse.
He graduated from Fairview High School in 1945. After graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corp. Kenny lived in Fairborn, OH for over 40 years and worked as a data systems manager for the United States Air Force. He moved to Holton in 2005. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church both in Fairview, KS. He was presently attending First United Methodist Church in Holton. He was also a member of N.A.R.F.E.
Kenny married Velma I. Colhouer on April 29, 1955 in Hoyt, KS. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Curt W. Kruse (Lisa Stultz) of Fairview, KS; a daughter, Becky R. Maggard (Frank) of Powell, TN; a sister, Rachel Dale of Topeka, KS; a granddaughter, Amanda Storer (Chris) of Miamisburg, OH; three step grandchildren, Daniel, Kristy and Bryon; one great-granddaughter Adelia and five step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Holton. Interment will be in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
