SOLDIER – Keith Wayne Rieschick, 86, of Soldier, KS passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011 at his farm home. He was born September 15, 1924 on the family farm southwest of Soldier, the son of Henry F. and Audrey McKinsey Rieschick.
Keith was a lifelong farmer and rancher who inherited his love for cattle and the land from his father, Henry. He was an honorary member of Jackson County Livestock Association in 2005. He was on Jackson Farmers Board of Directors, the Soldier School Board, and Soldier Lions Club. Keith was a member of Bucks Grove United Methodist Church and served on the cemetery board.
Keith married Marjorie Anna DeBusk on August 29, 1948 in Soldier, KS. Marjorie preceded him in death on March 11, 1991. He is survived by his daughters, Darlene Perez (Randy) of Topeka, Carolyn Kennedy of Circleville, Audrey Elaine Stephenson of Circleville, and Pam O'Neil (John) of Topeka; his son, Lynn Rieschick (Diana) of Soldier; a sister, Twyla Tribble (Bob) of Houston, TX; brothers, Clyde Rieschick (Elnora) and Claude Rieschick (Betty) all of Soldier; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Faye Myer, Lois Wheeler and Ferne Chrisman.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton. Burial will be in Bucks Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
