Kayla Renae LaMastus, 20, passed away Monday August 2, 2010 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born April 26, 1990 in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Jeffery Stonebraker and Denise (Davis) Desch. She graduated from Jefferson West High School in 2008 and later obtained her CNA license through Allen County Community College. She currently was waitressing at Trails Café in Holton and was known for her bright smile and homemade pies. Kayla was a member of the local Turtles Association. On May 30, 2009 she married Kyle LaMastus in Holton. He survives.
She is also survived by: her dad, Jeff Stonebraker (Melinda) of Topeka, KS; her mom, Denise Desch of Topeka, KS; her stepfather, Gary Desch of Topeka, KS; her maternal grandparents, Tommy and Sherry Roberts of Topeka, KS; her sister, Kelli Owens of Topeka, KS; her in-laws, Don and Sue LaMastus of Holton, KS; her brothers-in-law, Ryan LaMastus (Hayley), Cody LaMastus and Chris Morr (Miranda); her three nieces, Tristyn, Taylor and Alyssa and her nephew, Tyler. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Harry and Nancy Stonebraker and her great grandma, Hazel Davis.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday August 5, at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Meriden Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening at the Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton from 6-8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Kayla LaMastus Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date c/o of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
