SOLDIER- Kathryn L. "Kathy" Caviness, 37, of Soldier, KS passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at her parent's home after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born June 28, 1975 in Holton, KS the daughter of John T. and Barbara E. (Renyer) Grau.

Kathy graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1993 and received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Washburn University in 1997. She worked for Social Rehabilitation Services in Topeka and was a member of the Soldier Christian Church.

Kathy married Andrew "Andy" Caviness on December 29, 2000 in Las Vegas, NV. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her 3 children, Colin, Ethan and Lauryn, all of the home; her parents, John and Barbara Grau of Soldier, KS and a brother, Brad Grau of Topeka, KS.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Soldier Cemetery. Kathy will lie in state beginning Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and the family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
