Karl Eddy "Krud" Sauvage, 75, of Onaga, KS, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at his home with family by his side. He was born May 14, 1946 in Jefferson City, MO, the son of Ralph Grafton and Elaine Augusta (Cox) Sauvage.

Karl graduated from Soldier High School in 1964. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1965-1968, during the Vietnam War; he was an E-4, assigned as a postal clerk on many ships.

He worked for 38 years at Union Pacific Railroad on the "Bridge Gang", retiring in 2003. Karl enjoyed his dogs, goats, birds (especially doves) and swap meets.

Karl married Delores E. "Dee" Aubert on August 18, 2009 in Miami, OK. They celebrated over 12 years of marriage and were together as a family for 19 years.

Survivors include his wife, Dee of the home; 3 children, Karla Anderson of Gardner, KS, Todd Sauvage (Geri) and Karl A. Sauvage (Angie) both of Onaga, KS; step-son, Derek Weixelman (Samantha) of Onaga, KS; 3 step-daughters, Ashlee Carter (Alanzo) of Bartlesville, OK, Harlee Borders and Emilee McDonald (Corey) both of Topeka, KS; brother, Gordon Sauvage (Laura) of Flagstaff, AZ; sister-in-law, Sue Sauvage of Topeka, KS; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Elaine Sauvage; step-son, Brandon Borders; 2 sisters, Shirley Randel and Glenda Bosse and a brother, Harold P. "Poodle" Sauvage.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Havensville Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Onaga Senior Center, Havensville Christian Church or Holton V.F.W.
