Obituary

Holton- Karen Diane Post, 63 of Holton, KS died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was born May 12, 1944 in Corning, KS, the daughter of Herbert A. and Myrtle Chilson Post. She attended the Little Red School House in Salina, KS for two years at ages 3 and 4. She attended Corning Grade School, but because this occurred before 1976 when Special Education became available in all public schools, her attendance was brief. She lived with her parents until their deaths. She moved to Pennsylvania Place in Holton in February, 1990. She was employed at the Jackson County Training Center for a number of years. She enjoyed participating in Special Olympics Kansas.
Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Clements (Clinton), Denver, CO, her brother, Wilbur Post (Peggy), Topeka, KS, five nieces (Kay Cessna, Centennial, CO, Vicki Hogue, Aurora, CO, Glenda Otto, Delta, UT, Carla Clements, Denver, CO, Cheryl Peuker, Topeka, KS, Lisa Pruitt, Eatonville, WA and Lori Groti, Fort Collins, CO) and two nephews (Gregg Clements, Aurora, CO and Bruce Clements, Prescott, AZ). She was preceded in death by her mother ( Myrtle), father (Herbert), sister (Thelma McKee) and three bothers (Glen, Claude and Clyde).
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in America City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2008. Memorial Contribution may be made to Pennsylvania Place Group Home at 925 Pennsylvania, Holton, KS 66436, Special Olympics Kansas c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436 or to the donor's favorite charity.
