Valley Falls- Judith Ann Redmon, 72, of Valley Falls, KS, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Anew Healthcare in Nortonville, KS with her family at her side. She was born May 20, 1951, in Topeka, KS, the daughter of James Walter and Dorothy Jean (Smith) Meyer.
Judith graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1970. Shortly after high school, she got her beautician license. In the early 1980's she would gain her license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). With this certification, she worked in the various Nursing Homes in the area for over 30 years. Her last employment was at Linnwood Place in Valley Falls.
She was a member of the Valley Falls Christian Church.
Judith married Billy Wayne Redmon on December 18, 1970, in Valley Falls, KS; they celebrated over 52 years of marriage. She could always be found right next to Billy; in the field going bow hunting. She was an avid shopper alongside her daughters, always looking for a thrift shop or garage sale. Together Judith and Billy enjoyed spending time and watching their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Redmon, of the home; 2 daughters, Tricia Redmon (Lee Noll) of Nortonville, KS, and Trudy Bammes (Mike Rizzo) of Horton, KS; 4 brothers, Terry Meyer (Rita) of Topeka, KS, Dale Meyer of Valley Falls, Gary Meyer (Peggy) of Valley Falls, and Tom Meyer (Sallie) of Valley Falls; 4 grandchildren, Anna Frakes (Spencer Smith), Billy Frakes (Max), Dusty Bammes (Kendra), and Alex Bammes (Carlee); and 2 great-grandsons, Brantley Smith, and Langston Bammes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy Meyer; a sister-in-law, Juanita Meyer; a grandson, Jacob Bammes; and 2 great-grandbabies, Aspen, and an infant baby.
In honor of Judith's wishes, no services are planned at this time. Memorials may be given to Valley Falls Methodist Church Clothes Closet c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
