Judith Ann Kennedy, 66, of Las Vegas formerly of Whiting, KS, died Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Summerlin Hospital. She was born June 25, 1943 in Holton, KS, the daughter of Frank H. and Norma J. Davidson Maxwell.
She graduated from Whiting High School and went to LPN School at Kansas Vo-Tech. She worked as an LPN at The Manor of Topeka. She had been a member of the Whiting Baptist Church.
Judy married Charles R. Place and they were later divorced. She later married David Kennedy. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Hawkins. Judy is survived by her children, Brent and Jamie Place of West Valley, UT, and Tom and Donna Place of Las Vegas, NV, and Tiffany and Keith Place-Jaton of Fremont, CA; a brother, Richard and Lynn Maxwell of Shawnee, KS; and grandchildren, Justin, Luciano, ReeAnna, T.C., and Mason.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the Whiting Baptist Church in Whiting, KS. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery in Whiting. The family will greet friends from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Friday evening at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
