TOPEKA-Juanita (Nita) Maas Smolar, 92 years old, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2009. She was born in Harveyville, Kansas, July 27, 1917, and she and her late husband, Milton Maas, raised their three children in Topeka. She is survived by her daughter, Dena Kelly, her husband Milton of Florence, AZ, Janet Guidry, her husband Jim of Gold Canyon, AZ and Richard Maas, his wife Kathleen of Tempe, AZ. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. No services are planned.
