Juanita May Meyer, 76, Valley Falls, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at Hickory Pointe Healthcare Facility at Oskaloosa.
She was born July 8, 1940, at Chincoteague Island, VA, the daughter of Hollis and Lois Marie Collins Jeffries.
Juanita was a homemaker. She had worked at Uncle Dale's Bar in Valley Falls, and in the Laundry Department at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital at Winchester. She was a member of the Winchester Christian Church.
She married Larry Dale Meyer, March 28, 1995, at Lampe, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Lois Marie Jeffries; her brother, Rick Jeffries; and three sisters, Claudia Payne, Lois Ann Hewitt, and Louise Knapp.
Survivors include her husband, Dale, of the home; her son, Lawrence Henry Smart, Jr., Leavenworth; two daughters, Waconia Sue Brown, Leavenworth, and Michelle Danielle Smart, Topeka; two sisters, Sheila Eaton, Valley Falls, and Roberta Vasquez, Lawrence; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Cremation is planned and inurnment will be at the Winchester-Wise Cemetery at Winchester at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Juanita Meyer Memorial Fund to be designated later and sent c/o Mercer Funeral Home, PO Box 6, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
