Joyce H. Dollen, 81, Valley Falls, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at her home in Valley Falls.
She was born on Aug. 28, 1931, in Valley Falls, the daughter of Herman and Helen Post Lonard. She graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1949.
Joyce was a homemaker. She was a member of the Valley Falls United Methodist Church, the Valerian Study Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of Grahem-Herbers Post 3084, Veterans of Foreign Wars, all in Valley Falls.
She married Alan Dollen on Dec. 26, 1949, at Valley Falls. He died on Aug. 1, 2001. She was was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Rhea Dollen; son-in-law, Roger D. Long; and a sister, Shirley Senn.
Survivors include a son, Rick (Shelly) Dollen, a daughter, Paula Jo Long, all of Valley Falls; and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren
The graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls at 9:30 a.m., Friday, and leave in procession at 10:15 a.m. After the service there will be a reception at the family home at 709 Walnut, Valley Falls.
