SHUPE
Holton – Josephine O. Shupe, 94, of Holton, died Thursday, January 26, 2006. She was born April 2, 1911, in Mayetta. She was the daughter of Ora and Anna Zirger Eby.
She graduated from Circleville High School in 1929. She worked at Slimaker Dress Factory for twenty-one years.
Josephine married Freeman Shupe on May 29, 1929 in Soldier, KS. He preceded her in death on December 13, 1982. She was also preceded by a daughter, Betty LaFond on September 22, 1988, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include sons, Glenn Shupe and his wife Deanna of Fresno, CA, Jackie Shupe and his wife Janet of Topeka, Gary Shupe and his wife Mary of Holton; daughter Barbara Sherrer and her husband Bernie of Topeka; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2006 at Mercer Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Jackson County Nursing Home in care of Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
