Joseph E. Tickles, 93, Valley Falls, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Village Villa Care Center in Nortonville.
He was born on Nov. 19, 1919, at Independence, LA, the son of Tom and Havana Green.
He had worked as a custodian at the US Customs and Postal Building at Denver, CO for many years. He served in the US Army from 1945-1947. He had been a member of the Baptist Church. He had been a resident at Valley Health Care in Valley Falls since 1989.
He married Josephine Moore. They later divorced. He married Cassie Johnson. They were separated.
The graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls is in charge of arrangements.
