JOSEPH FRANKLIN SENN
Valley Falls - Joseph Franklin "Frank" Senn, 78, Valley Falls, died Saturday, March 31, 2007, at a Topeka care facility.
He was born Dec. 11, 1928, east of Valley Falls, the son of Louis J and Nellie B. Curtis Senn. He graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1946. He served in the US Army from 1946-48.
He was a carpenter and a farmer. He was a member of Grahem-Herbers Post 3084 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Bicentennial Post 255 at Ozawkie.
He married Shirley Ann Lonard on Oct. 12, 1951, at Winchester. She died on Aug. 3, 1993. A son, Danny Joe Senn, also preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 1966.
Survivors include a son, Mark Senn, Emporia; three daughters, Cindy Kater, Auburn, and Debbie Carter and Peggy Senn, both of Valley Falls; two sisters, Lois Homewood, Fargo, N.D., and Frances Rolin, Ozawkie; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial with military honors conducted by Grahem-Herbers Post 3084 V.F.W. will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery. A visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson County EMS District 11 and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, 810 Broadway, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
