Joseph "Joe" L. "Kiweshkum" Arnold, 35, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at his home in Mayetta. He was born March 10, 1971 in Holton, the son of Lester and Wanda Carol Fitzsimmons Arnold.
Joe lived in Mayetta all his life. He graduated from Royal Valley High School in 1989. He joined the United States Army in June 1989, and was promoted to a 1st Sergeant in the 101st Airborne Division. He had worked for Goodyear and was recently working for Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.
He was a member of the Wa-Te-Se American Legion Post 410 in Mayetta, a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and a member of the Potawatomi United Methodist Church in Mayetta.
Joe married Sherry Arnold Lopez on December 21, 1991 in Mayetta, they later divorced.
Survivors include his father Lester Arnold of Mayetta; a grandfather Joseph Fitzsimmons of Mayetta; a daughter Jamie Lee Arnold of Hoyt; 2 sisters Laura Schreiber of Mayetta, Elaine Dreasher of Hoyt; and 2 nephews Curtis and Justen Dreasher of Hoyt.
He was preceded in death by his mother Wanda Carol Arnold and his grandmother Carol Ramage Fitzsimmons.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
