John Kathrens, 81, of Holton, KS, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021. He was born June 17, 1939, the son of Helen and Walter Kathrens. John lived in the Holton community and was a farmer and stockman.

He married Janice H. Fraser on September 30, 1961. He is survived by son, Dan Kathrens of Great Bend, KS; his three daughters, Cindy Kathrens (Dave Jeanneret) of Onaga, KS, Pat Korte (Randy) and Sharon Hochard (John) both of Holton, KS; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine Cook of Holton, KS and Kay McKeever of Hines, OR and brother, Wallace Kathrens of Holton, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Kathrens II on October 26, 2000; wife, Janice (Fraser) Kathrens on June 22, 2012; sisters, Jean Baker, Evelyn Schultz, Frances Schuyler; Norma Walden, Audrey Howard and Barbara Clark and brothers, Jay Kathrens, Philip Kathrens and Frank Kathrens.
