Jerry Ray Smith, 54, of Topeka, KS, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019. He was born March 20, 1965 in Horton, KS, the son of Daryl and Nadine Smith.

Jerry graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1983. Jerry grew up on the family farm in Whiting. He enjoyed farming but his greatest love was the horses and cattle. He fulfilled his dreams of working as a ranch hand in Wyoming and Kansas his adult life.

He was preceded in death by his mother Nadine Smith.

Survivors include a daughter, Lacy Smith of Whiting, KS; a son Roby Snavely (Gretchen) of Holton, KS; his father Daryl Smith of Whiting; a sister Sheryl Callison (Mark) of Holton; 3 brothers, Terry Smith (Gena) of Whiting, KS, Garry Smith (Kerri) of Soldier, KS and Perry Smith (Sarah) of Wetmore, KS; 1 granddaughter Lyla Leona LaMastus.

A celebration of life will be conducted by Jerry's family at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Whiting Gymnasium in Whiting, KS. Memorial contributions may be given to the Jerry Smith Memorial Fund c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
