Jeaneane Chance, 75, of Mayetta, KS passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 29, 2017 at her home. She was born August 25, 1941 in Topeka, KS the daughter of Roy and Lucille (Peters) Frey.


Jeaneane graduated from Seaman High School in1959 and from Topeka Cosmetology in 1961. She was a life-long member of the Hoyt and Mayetta communities. Jeaneane owned and operated Jeaneane's Beauty Salon in Topeka and Hoyt from 1964 – 1989. She was also a homemaker and had worked part-time at Expressions in Holton. She was a member of the Mayetta Christian Church.



Jeaneane married Darrel E. Chance on March 27, 1960 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2009.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Allison Winter (Pat) and Lori Eck (Ken) both of Mayetta; a son, D.J. Chance (Kristi) of Mayetta, KS; 9 grandchildren, Cliff, Brooke, Ashley, Morgan, Bailey, Chase, Miles, Wyatt and Blake; 2 great-grandsons, Gatlin and Kooper; 2 sisters, Mary Lou O'Flaherty (John) of Texas and Lani Paramore (Jim) of Topeka, KS and a brother, Rocky Frey (Patti) of Georgia.


Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery in Topeka. Family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Jackson County Senior Citizens Center c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
