STAUFFER

HOLTON- Emma Jean Stauffer, 82, of Holton, KS passed away June 2, 2008 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born May 20, 1926 in Whiting, KS the daughter of Ralph and Lillie Ethel Wolfe McQueen.
She graduated from Soldier High School in 1944. She had lived in Holton since 1960 and had previously lived in the Topeka area for several years. Mrs. Stauffer was a homemaker and had worked for the State of Kansas Board of Agriculture in data entry. She retired in 1992 after 15 years with the state. She was a member of the Larkinburg Christian Church.
She married Richard "Dean" Stauffer on October 28, 1951 in Soldier, KS. He survives. Other survivors include 4 daughters, Debbi Wrobliske of Kingwood, TX, Melissa Gibeson-Astle of Las Vegas, NV, Roberta Mize of Topeka, KS and Patti Peterson of Holton, KS; her sister, Betty Chilea of Salt Lake City, UT; her brother, Harold McQueen of Delia, KS; 8 grandchildren, Darcy Heckel, Angela Sammon, Jeni Smith, Justin and Tyler Burdick, Ivan Gibeson and Noah and Kaitlin Peterson; 4 great-grandchildren, Joshua and Madison Sammon, Jordan Heckel and Joel Gibeson.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Midland Hospice House c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
