Obituary

MAYETTA- Jay Vernon "Tiny" Medlock, 89, of Mayetta, KS passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 in an auto accident near Mayetta. He was born February 11, 1921 in Holton, KS, the son of Calvin and Susie Medlock.
Tiny attended Mayetta High School and lived most of his life in the Mayetta community. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was owner of the Mayetta Locker. Tiny was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors.
He married Mary Frances McBroom on August 4, 1943 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She passed away August 17, 1995. He was also preceded in death by one sister. Survivors include his daughter, Betty Lutz (Bruce) of Mayetta, KS; a sister; his grandchildren, Ben Lutz of Hoyt, KS and Kristi Lutz of Holton, KS and a great-grandson.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Holton Cemetery. He will lie in state from 3:30 to 8:30 Sunday evening and until 10:15 Monday morning at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to Heart of Jackson Humane Society c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
