Janice Marie Moulden, 76, of Topeka passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at her home. She was born October 15, 1947, in Troy, KS, the daughter of Bernard and Ora Patricia (Brownlee) Hennis.
Janice grew up in the small town of Arrington, KS. She graduated from Atchison County Community High School in Effingham, KS in 1965.
In 1970, Janice was united in marriage to Charlie R. Gray in Topeka, KS. To this union, they shared 4 children, Lourie, Monty, Christopher, and Brian. The family lived in Holton, KS for many years.
Janice was a Girl Scout Den Leader while there. She also had a cake decorating business from her home. If you had a Birthday, Anniversary, or a Wedding from the late 70's thru the 80's it's possible she might have made it. She also enjoyed sewing and making crafts. Janice was an avid bowler, making a trip to Nationals several times. She was also the Tuesday night Men's league secretary.
Janice married Vaughn L. Moulden in 1997 at the Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton. They recently celebrated 27 years of marriage. Vaughn has 3 daughters, Yvonne, Amy, and Sheri.
Janice and Vaughn resided in Topeka. They met while working at Walmart, where she retired after 16 years. They both enjoyed making crafts and playing with their many dogs. The most recent was Donner, they proudly adopted him.
Survivors include her husband, Vaughn of the home; all 7 children, Lourie M. Brackin (Jeff) of Shawnee, KS, Monty S. Gray of Gulf Breeze, FL, Christopher L. Gray (Kris) of Shawnee, KS and Brian C. Gray (Ericka) of Kansas City, KS; Yvonne Schoonover (Ben) of Henderson, NV, Amy Rodriguez (Javier) of Schertz, TX, and Sheri Becker (Scott) of Topeka, KS. Together, Janice and Vaughn had 17 grandchildren. She had several Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Pat Hennis; sister, Patsy Clemetson and 5 brothers, Kenneth, Ronald, Frank, William and Roger Hennis. Also, one grandson, Javier Luis Rodriquez, Petty Officer 2nd Class of the Navy, passed in Jan. of 2024.
