HOLTON - James K. "Scottie" Scott, 95, of Topeka, KS and formerly of Holton, KS, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024 at the Rolling Hills Assisted Living in Topeka, KS. He was born April 13, 1928 in North Bend, Nebraska the son of Henry P. and Agnes R. (Feala) Scott.

James proudly served during the Korean Conflict where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant.  He served his first 3 years in US Army and his last 17 years in the US Air Force where he retired.

He worked for over 20 years for the City of Holton in the Street Department. James was a member of the Holton VFW Post # 1367.

On March 3, 1957, James was united in marriage to Betty Earlene Green at West Palm Beach, Florida. They shared 56 years of marriage before Betty passed away on March 23, 2013.

Survivors include his daughter, Dee Ann Shupe (Danny) of Topeka, KS and his son, James "J.G." Scott (Sharon) of Topeka, KS; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy, Tyler, Blake, Kristi, Brain and Chris; 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, KS. Graveside inurnment with military honors will follow to the Olive Hill Cemetery.
