James N. Parison, 64, of Netawaka, KS, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009 at his home. He was born July 19, 1944 in Wilmington, NC, the son of John Nick and Frances Thomas Parison. He lived in Netawaka for the past 13 years and had previously lived in Topeka.
He had worked as a janitor at the VA Hospital in Topeka before becoming disabled. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
James married Shirley Howland on April 29, 1970 in Topeka, KS. She survives. He is survived by his children, Rita and Ken Waterman of Holton, James N.W. and Amber Parison of Topeka, Francis and Mike Goodwin of Topeka, and Thomas Parison of Netawaka; 2 sisters and a step-sister; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Netawaka Cemetery.
