GILKERSON
James Gilkerson, 83, of Lincoln, NE, died Thursday, June 29, 2006. He was born October 21, 1922 in Marysville, KS, the son of Morris and Ethel Dague Gilkerson. He was also a past resident of Holton, KS, here he owned and operated Gilk's Potato Chips Company.
He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and was a member of American Legion and the V.F.W. both in Lincoln.
Survivors include his son, Tim Gilkerson of Omaha, NE; his daughter, Adrian Gilkerson of Lincoln, NE; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Standish Gilkerson, his parents, a sister, Clare, and a brother, Morris.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Roper & Sons Chapel, 4300 O. Street in Lincoln, NE. Visitation is one hour prior to service time. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 6th at the Holton Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of local arrangements.
